Since we have a little recent activity on this board, I thought I would share my recent experience.

DH and I just moved to a new house. I've been sober over 15 years. I have been pretty much attending the same meetings and seeing pretty much the same people for most of those years. Well now we live further away. I can still go to my old meetings if I really want to, but its a bit of a drive. In the winter it will be very difficult. So I attended my first "new" meeting a week ago in my new neighborhood. Boy was I scared! I was reminded of how I felt when I was new. It was a very good learning experience for me.

So time for me to get a new home group. Sign up for coffee duty. Give out and get phone numbers. Learn were there are other meetings. Maybe get a more local sponsor. Just like when I was new. I know that this will continue to be good for my growth in sobriety. Hopefully it will help me be more useful to newcomers.
