I am in awe of anyone who attempts / writes fiction.

I have no idea how to start. Everything I have written (all non-published) is non-fiction.

Ideally, I'd like to write both.

I have a few kernels for stories, but have a seemingly overwhelming fear of trying to write dialogue and of plotting and characterization, i.e. the whole enchilada.

I stopped at Barnes and Noble last night and browsed through some fiction and also thought about the novels I have enjoyed over the years, and my thought was, "Who am I kidding ???!!! I could NEVER write anything as good as this!!! ).

I don't have that fear with non-fiction. I am confident that I have the ability (if not the sit-at-my-desk discipline) to write as well as the "average" published non-fiction writer.

Susan
