I am a beginning investor with a new job that offers a aplan whereby 17% of my earnings go into retirement savings pretax and my options of where to invest are limitede to first union or fidelity. I think the latter is best and now am faced with the decision between the Magellan and the fidelity spartan market index( I have read foolish things that make me think nthat the index is better than the Magellan) but could that be true. I will contribute over 30 yrs. I would appreciate any advice.
