Find ancient sites close to where you are with the Megalithic Portal's database of ancient sites worldwide. More QR codes (Square Barcodes) and links below on our page.

Click here to access the QR Codes and more live links in the text http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=2146414191

Low res Mobile

If the QR code doesn't scan in your phone camera you can install a phone app called Neoreader, there are others.

The links will take you to a page where your browser or mobile device may ask 'Do you want to share your location?' or something like that - you may need to say Yes/Allow to go on.

You will then be taken to the closest ancient site to your location that we have listed. Look for the Note saying: This site is xx km away from the location you searched for.

Scroll down the page to see a list of ancient sites nearby.

The links will work worldwide but we have more data in some countries than others. We do not include most Roman sites but do include prehistory from ~30,000BC and selected Early Mediaeval / Dark Age sites such as ancient crosses and Holy Wells up to ~900AD, also indigenous sites up to approx. 1600AD for the Americas, Australia and NZ

Our data is unofficial but is crowdsourced by thousands of contributors and curated by an experienced team of amateur prehistorians.

Read more about our site and community here.

If you know of a site we don't list, please add it to our database.

We also love to see new photos of sites we list and contributions of more accurate locations and other notes and information, look for the links to the top right of the page (desktop version). Register for free to join our thousands of contributors worldwide and get more help and information in our forum.

Please pass on, retweet etc!
