Happy New Year, fellow FIREbees,I wish the best for all and I hope 2005 treats us as well or better than 2004. So, is anyone going to reach the magical FIRE number in 2005? I'm not going to, as I'll be a Wannabee for another decade or so.
I'm trying to figure out how many 10 baggers I would need... If my top 3 stocks magically turned 10 times this year I would still fall short by a long shot. If my whole portfolio turned 10 times I would be in the clear though.I have trouble predicting an exact date for FI let alone RE because I don't know what my returns will be for the next few years. If the next couple years go as well as this one then it will be about 5 years. Otherwise as much as 10 or maybe more.-- Dennis
I actually hit my FI target in 2004! (happy dance!) As to the RE part it might be in 2005 or later - will see how Dilbert the job becomes! ; )
