Hello,

I recently got my learner's permit and am very excited to start ridin'. I have no idea what I'm doing -- I rode a little scooter once when I was maybe 12 -- and I plan to take a 3 day course, the passing of which waives my license test and just gives me a NY license.

The popular opinion among people I've talked to is my first bike should be light (250cc range), used, and cheap, something I don't mind banging up or laying down, because that will probably happen.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a good starter bike? I'm looking at the Honda Rebel right now...

Any other tips on learning to ride are of course greatly appreciated. TIA.
