I got my first real hike in yesterday. Did a solo in the White Mountains climbing up Sandwich Mountain. The mountain itself is about 8 feet shy of 4000 feet so it doesn't get the same kind of attention that the 4K's do. Great day. I had the trail to myself, although I did come across another solo hiker at the top who came up a different route. There were a couple of small patches of snow, but nothing to write home about. Moose skat was everywhere. So much so that I thought I would run into one. Anyway, it was good to be back in the Whites. I'm working on bagging all 48 4000 footers. 23 down, 25 to go. Hopefully it won't be so rainy this summer like it was last so I can get out more often.
