... had the lawn mower out cutting through leaves.
I figure there are another few weeks of dropping leaves to go - with
the pecan trees being the last to go.

Folks are saying we've got a lot of acorns this year.
This tends to keep the bears up in the mountains and away from
the towns in the foothills.

Also, the elder wives round town say we are in for a hard winter.

Hard winters do come around in the south.
Just don't come as frequently - and hard is a relative term.
Hard means deeper in Erie
Hard means deeper in Greenville
But deeper is different bewix the two locales.
