Foolman,

I have used Provigil (as prescribed due to sleepiness issues) and did not like it, at all.

I felt drugged the whole time. In a way it felt like being drawn tight as a bowstring - alert and able to function but without the normal depth of memory, insight, and ability to get to my mental faculties like I normally enjoy. Think caffeine overdose late at night without the jitters and shakes.

About the only thing I found in its favor is that it helped me keep awake when I needed to keep awake.

After years of trying to figure out the issue, we discovered epona's legs jerk in her sleep. Since at that time we slept on a spring mattress, each leg jerk was waking me up, but not enough for me to be conscious of being awake. Anyway, I was not getting *any* sleep. In my nap study, the longest it took me to fall asleep was 1.5 minutes (after having taken 5 naps that day). The shortest was 20 seconds. I was D@MN sleepy.

We switched to a foam mattress and now everything is glorious, and I would never take Provigil unless I had to.
