For ages, Warren Buffet avoided tech stocks, so his venture into AAPL likely swung the mood a bit after he did join in...

It's extremely unlikely that "Buffett" bought Apple. It's correct to say that Berkshire owns a position in Apple, but that was likely bought (and added to) by one of the people running parts of his investment portfolio for Berkshire, either Todd Combs or Ted Weschler. He allows them nearly full latitude in what they do with their smaller chunks, but Buffett himself isn't the tech guy. (He did recently invest in IBM, a misstep. I suspect he won't be pursuing chips and electrons again soon.)
