For China Mobile, here is a basic chart showing price movement over time. The trend is still up and TA folks say "the trend is your friend." So one could hold on until the trend reverses, but this would take careful watching of price movement daily.

Update on CHL: the current price is just barely above a daily trend line drawn from the lows of August to the low of early October (ends at about $90). The weekly trend line drawn from the lows of mid-2006 through the lows of August show the current price is above the trend (ends at about $55 - similar to the weekly view of the above chart). Here is a link detailing trend lines:

For anyone interested in studying Technical Analysis, start with Stan Weinstein's classic book, "Secrets for profiting in bull and bear markets." Mr. Weinstein's theories can also be found online. I'll look them up and link them in a future message.

I'm not advocating trading on this board, just good entries and exits for better profits. Trading involves a huge time commitment and most folks have higher purposes. I've been an investor for 25 years, but only been buying stocks for about two years. I started with Hidden Gems, but also have a very smart friend, (Emerson/Harvard divinity school grad) who has been studying/investing/trading full time for seven years. I'm been exposed to the best of fundamental and technical analysis. (My family’s portfolios (IRAs) have doubled since starting stock investing two years ago.)

Just a thought: why do Fools battle over FA/TA, but not Options ? :

TA and Options - if you know what you are doing - can boost returns.

best, sm
