For years we were told by everybody that Toyota was one of the best, with the best resale value, quality, etc.

Now we all learn what they did to protect their wonderful status.

This upsets so many people that I have trouble finding proper words to express my disgust. My brother bought a new Yaris some 4 years ago, and his mother-in-law bought a new Rav4 about 6 or 7 years ago. Let's hope those are good.

Me? I drive a 2004 Chevrolet Impala (bought new in 2004). It's got 156,000km on it now and it will most likely be replaced by another Impala or a Mercury Grand Marquis. I was actually thinking about a new Camry but that one is off my top 5 list forever.

Maybe we are all over-reacting and the cars will be just fine after the recalls are completed?
