So claims the Pentagon. Of course the Pentagon is just the Administration's mouthpiece, and they'll parrot what they're told. After all, careers could hinge on a misspoken word.
Do you, as I do, feel that as soon as there's a change of administration, there'll be a change of heart on that too?

Victims' families claim it's because the Army doesn't want to give them a Purple Heart. I doubt that being the reason. Medals cost nothing. Except for the CMH, there's no benefit attached to medals. I have two Purple Hearts and haven't benefited a dime from either of them. I take that back, I don't have two Purple Hearts. They pinned one on my chest for a photo-op, then took it back to pin it on the guy in the next bed.
The second time I was just handed an order awarding it, and told to go to the Quartermaster store and request one be issued. Some honor.
No, it doesn't cost the government anything.
