Four hours in four minutes;http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/05/rolling-thunder-2012-ti... I left KY on Thursday, overnighted at the Ohio/Va state line (Parkersburg,Va). Didn't see many bikes til I reached Winchester, WVA, then I was in and out of groups from three or four to 50-100. Stayed at Holiday Inn at Crystal City. Seems every room was filled by bikers. We had two floors of the parking garage reserved just for bikes.Events were variously fun and moving, concerts/presentations/recognotions... talking to vets, visiting Arlington.Long wait in the Pentagon parking lot(staging area), but lots of water and snacks were available (not near enough shade tho - gotta love sun block). First bike out at noon and the last one close to 4PM. Then the run to and around the Mall. The video is where the bikes hit the first street around the Mall (don't know the name).Visited some friends in the area, and visited the SGI-USA Buddhist Culture Center on Embassy Row (right next to the Iraq Embassy!)Headed home ~9AM rode straight through, arriving home ~8PM. Only stops were for gas and a couple for snacks and restroom. Whew... 11 hours in the saddle!Rte 50 in WVA is a great ride! Up in the mountains... curves, switchbacks, slaloms, beautiful scenery... a bikers dream ride. Although there were other routes that would have been quicker, well... it's about the journey, not the destination.ten-home, tired and sun&wind-burnt... a happy biker.
