Four Tennis players in the top 25? Are you kidding me? And Stephi Graff isn't even one of them.Oh yeah, and Dale Earnhart and a hockey goalie are more qualified? Give me a break. Tennis players play virtually year round. They don't sit in their butt in a car or stand up for 20 minutes at a time, three times a night, every other night, for a few months a year;-)WRT to Ms. Graf, though she compiled some really awesome numbers, it's widely believed that she faced the least amount of competition during her years than many of the other "greats". For instance, Martina's numbers are incredible in their own right. But when you consider that she and Chris Evert faced each other in FOURTEEN grand slam finals, you see that her (and Chris's) record could be even better. Chris and Martina compiled 18 grand slam singles titles each to Steffi's 22. Obviously, Martina's doubles record puts her on ESPN's list (and rightly so;-)Still, McEnroe and Serena Williams could (should?) be dropped from this list whereas Sampras, of course, unquestionably belongs. Six STRAIGHT years at number one is an INCREDIBLE feat, especially when one considers the competition he faced during those years. And, his record 14 Grand Slam singles titles ain't too shabby either. And, you might find this interesting:http://www.tennis.com/ProGame/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=33477&itype=1296
