Franklin Templeton is a mutual fund family. Therefore, it is all mutual funds.

I believe that you can direct transfer your SIMPLE IRA to another SIMPLE IRA custodian without tax penalty.

I know you can do this with a SEP IRA.

You cannot take a distribution from a SIMPLE within two years of setup without incurring a 25%? penalty. (More than 10% penalty, and I'm not confused and talking withholding).

Whether or not you would have a back end load from Franklin T, I don't know.
