At the time of the mortgage denial, I did not have the reversal to show that it wasn't supposed to be on the report. I didn't have a chance to do anything about NOT having it put on my report as I wasn't afforded an opportunity to appeal the decision before it hit my credit report.

Yes, now I can use the documentation to prove that it shouldn't exist, however I cannot expect any bank to not have some shadow of doubt about my credibility once they know it was there at all. It just doesn't look good, and brain or not, a lot of banks can afford to adopt the same attitude as what they see is a black mark.
