We need new Stanley Cup trustees

Voting is underway. Free Stanley's mission is to make sure there are Stanley Cup playoffs this hockey season. We love the Stanley Cup playoffs and we love the Cup. We believe it is the best trophy in all of sport, and it should not be denied to the best hockey team is playing this season.

Free Stanley wants new trustees for the Stanley Cup to be appointed.

According to the rules laid out by Lord Stanley "... the cup would be administered by reputable trustees who have the final say on disputes should there be any on who the Cup holder should be." Right now there are two trustees, Brian O'Niell and Ian "Scotty" Morrison. We believe they should be replaced with new trustees who will represent the best interests of the Stanley Cup and hockey fans, not just the NHL.

We have nominated ten Trustees-in-Waiting. We came up with the names in between snacking and having a couple of beers while we were watching the Grey Cup. (Pretty Canadian, eh?) Let the voting begin:

Please vote for two Trustees-in-waiting.
