Hi everybody! I'm new to the board and new to the Android OS. I got my phone in Nov and have been taking it pretty slow as far as learning new things & taking advantage of the technology. My prior phone was a very basic, stripped-down, free phone that is about 3 years old. It's much easier to text on this phone & I seem to have picked up a lot of friends that like to text in the last 2 months, lol. So I've looked into ways to send & recieve for free, since my provider charges a per-text fee. I could buy the texting plan, but since I've recently added the data plan for $30, I'd rather not.I've looked into Google Voice & that seems to be a way to *receive* texts for free, where someone uses the phone number that Google assignes to send me a text, instead of the phone number that my cell provider assigned.Has anyone used this? I'm still trying to figure out how to *send* texts for free with Google Voice.492dea
