Just added TZOO to my scorecard. This is now officially my greatest investment return ever.

...when Travelzoo turned up as a Rule Breaker rec a couple of months ago, it triggered a distant memory. I had to set the Wayback machine to 1998 to recall a little dotcom called Travelzoo giving away free shares of stock. All you had to do was sign up on their website, which I did. Then pretty much forgot about the whole thing.

But spurred by the Fool's coverage, I dug up an ancient email with an account number, did some digging, and found I still own 8 shares of TZOO...for which my basis was, as near as I can calculate, "signing up on a website"

Per the Scorcard I am sitting on a +336400.0% return!
Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good :)

I found this article by another satisfied TZOO "investor" http://www.freeby50.com/2011/05/sign-up-for-email-wait-13-ye...

...which more or less tracks my own experience. Did any other Fools get free shares from back in the crazy Dotcom Bubble days?
