From the AU website:

Students may earn admission to UA through the Assured Admission process if they:
[1] are an Arizona resident,
[2] attend a regionally accredited high school,
[3] rank in the top 25 percent of their graduating class, and
[4] have no course work deficiencies as prescribed by the Arizona Board of Regents (see table on page 6).

Arizona applicants who do not meet the Assured Admission criteria and all applicants not considered Arizona residents will be considered for admission through comprehensive review.

. . .

Notes: Some programs or colleges may require additional application information and/or admission requirements.

. . .

If students apply to those programs and do not meet the additional qualifications, they will be offered admission in another program for which they qualify.

Current automatic admission is not nearly as broad as you remember.

Regards, JAFO
