Furthermore she did not believe cholesterol was a problem. High cholesterol is a symptom of a problem, not the cause. The cause was inflammation in the blood vessels. So the secret is to reduce the inflammation. We did not make much progress. We did not figure out how to do that in my case.


I mentioned the GAPS diet earlier in this thread. The author discusses cholesterol quite a bit in her GAPS book, but she has written another book called "Put your heart in your mouth". It is a fairly short and readable book. It is in agreement with what you wrote above (the bit in bold) but goes on to recommend a diet and other lifestyle changes which she claims will address the inflamation.
