Great Poll! I look forward to the results! This is an age-old question isn't it?

Oops, on my vote, I meant to hit the "99% of the time" button. The one thing that I do is move my ball in the fairway - that does not read move my ball into the fairway :). When I play by myself, I play by the book (except the fairway thing).

I guess I'm more anal than most but moving your ball in every fairway is much more than a 1% of the time occurrence (or at least I hope for your sake.)

I can't stand when a person moves the ball and then say they got a par/bogey when I played the ball from a hole and shot a bogey/double.

I play with one guy who plays winter rules all year long, well he did until we got on him consistently.

I've done about everything you can think of wrong, but it doesn't happen very often. I haven't played a mulligan in so long, I can't recall when I last did.

I'm so anal that about three years ago, I took a 27 with about 11 penalties (thats 22 strokes for those counting at home) because I was determined to not cheat. I had a low score going until that hole and it was the 18th. Don't even mention the stupidity of hitting 10 balls into the same penalty area, I KNOW.

The worst thing I've ever seen was last year. My foursome was on the 1st tee. A group was finishing on 18, all older gentlemen. One of the guys is far out in front of the others, supposedly looking for his ball. As I watched he dropped one out of of his pocket and yelled that he found it. But, that ain't even the worst part. Then he started kicking it around to give himself a better shot at the pin. I don't mean 3 inches, I'm talking 3 feet, at least.

Oh well, I guess my anal(ytical) side just doesn't get it.

I agree with you on the honest part. When I shot my personal best (by 5 strokes), I knew I could look everyone in the eye and brag about it. Had I cheated, I wouldn't have had the luxury.

The next poll might be: Of the guys you regularly play with, what percentage of the time do THEY follow the rules?

I bet we get a whole different "accounting" method when we're judging others. ;-)
