Dear Foreign Film fans,

I opened this board for I am a big fan of Foreign Films, and am hoping that there are few more Fools out there that share the same passion. Just this month I saw the following films at the Soviet Film Festival going on at the National Gallery of Art.

The Letter Never Sent (1959)(Mikhail Kaltozov director)

Heat (1963) (Larissa Shepitko Director)

The First Teacher (1965) (Andrei Konchalovsky Director)

Asya's Happiness (1967) (Andrei Konchalovsky Director)

Soviet Films besides the clear propaganda are masterfully done and show the Soviet Era at its peak power point. The films are wonderfully done in Black and White and the acting is superb. There is more to the world of Film out there, besides Hollywood.

Post whatever films you would like as long as they are foreign.
