I've been watching Genesco ever since I was a kid. Remember all those Flagg Bros. and Hardy shoe stores, the ones where you could get those cool Beatle boots in the 60s? Those were Genesco brands; as are Jarman, and Johnston & Murphy. They also run lease departments in some department stores, and they have a tannery; but they're not so much into manufacturing shoes anymore. They tried, and failed, in the department store biz in the 70s and 80s (Bergdorf Goodman?) Anyway, it looks like their Journeys mall shoe stores are pretty hot. The company seems to be regaining its focus. I have this stock as part of my Roth IRA portfolio. I haven't done a really proper due diligence, but hey, I always wanted to own a piece of this company, and now I do. And it seems to be working!(I hope they bring back Flagg Bros. stores. I need a new pair of Beatle boots!)
