I'm not an avid board-gamer but do read this board for recommendations. Following the various links to other sites for further reviews, I see games described as "German games".

I know that Germany as a nation produces many of the top quality board games these days, but I have to assume the term German game is a reference to something other than its origin. Is it a style, a genre, a "look and feel"?

Any enlightenment out there?

Thanks.
