My wife and I will receive a total of $50k in gifts from her Grandmother in the year 2000. This money was left in trust by my wifes Grandfather at the time of his death. Now that her Grandmother is a widow, will she have to pay a gift tax on any of this money, or will the "Unified" credit for taxable gifts cover this gift. Any advice, or input would be great.

Thanks,
arturus1
