Hey all ( Hi Phil!!! )

I have a question about the deductability of some Girls Scout activities. I am Currently training to be a leader. I am required to take several training classes. Most are free, however the First Aid/CPR Class ( given by the council) is 21.00, There is also a Day Tripper class that is required for me to take any type of trip away from out meeting place.

The troop is not paying for these classes. I am paying out of my pocket. Are these Deductable as part of my service to Girl Scouts?

Yes. Charitable contributions include your expenses incident to providing services to a charity. Your mileage for the day trips is also deductible, provided there is no significant element of personal pleasure, recreation, or vacation involved.
