Go to Compaq Web site and find out how much extra memory you can stick into your Presario. Mine originally came with 32Mb (2 16Mb chips, one of which is fixed and cannot be removed/replaced). Due to Compaq squeezing everything into so little space (ever noticed how small Presarios are compared to other brands?) You can't really put everything you want into it. Anyway, the only memory upgrade I could do was to replace the other 16Mb chip with a 32Mb one, so now I am at 48Mb - works pretty well. I usually use Netscape with Java turned off (Java uses a lot of memory), so it's Ok.
Yes, and DO delete all temp (*.tmp) files - they can take enormous amount of space (I saw >200Mb once)
