After 8 days camping 25 mikes from NYC to spend time w/DD, DGS age 29 months, and DGD from age 6-13 days, we're heading out this morning for the Adirondacks. We had a wonderful time, especially playing with our adorable grandson.

Visiting NYC includes something I always try do do here, which is catching an indie movie that i wouldn't otherwise get to see, in this case, The Company You Keep, about former Weathermen played by Rbobert Redford, Susan Sarandon, Julie Christie, Nick Nolte and Richard Jenkins, their children, a cop who had investigated their bank robbery in the 70s, played by Brendon Gleeson, not to mention FBI special agents Terrence Howard and Anna Kendrick (whom I had to wrack my brain to recall where I'd seen her before--with George Clooney in Up in the Air, another offbeat movie I recommend), Chris Cooper as Redfird's brither, and Shia LaBoef as the reporter who uncovers the truth.p--and Stanley Tucci as his boss,

DH also saw the IMAX 3D version of the new Trek with DSIL. DD, recovering from a caesarean, needed my help at home so I skipped that one. And we managed to get our favorite NY meals (in addition to the ones we cooked-), falafel sandwiches at Soom Soom on 72nd at Broadway (10 blocks from the theatre plying Company), and spicy Moroccan chicken, rice, and salad from the halal meat wagon on Frederick Douglas at 116th and a fantastic ginger ade from the French-speaking West African ladies across from the mosque entrance on the same block (around the corner from DD--we got it to eat on board last night so all we needed to cook was a vegetable).

Our grey water tank is at 100%, so we'd have to drive to the dump station this morning even if we weren't leaving. Our black water tank us at zero because our toilet needs to be repared so we're doing something we al most never do--use campground restrooms.
