I did the research and then bought a 2015 Subaru Forester.

My daughter had a brain injury and along with cognitive changes she has lessened mobility. One of her difficulties was getting into and (especially) out of low clearance autos.

The Forester works beautifully for her, she does not have to crouch to
enter this small SUV, nor does she have tostrain and pull herself up out of it.

I measured from the top of the seat to the ground: 27 inches. Just perfect for her at 5'5".

And, this auto will last and last. My sister already has 230,000 miles on hers and it is still going strong 14 years old now.
