Good for you! Sometimes you just have to stand up to the "system".I ended up taking Citi to court over fees they wanted to tack on to the payoff on a mortgage I had with them. In reviewing the mortgage documents, the fees were not stated or authorized anywhere. They wouldn't budge, saying "they always charged them".The judge agreed with me, the fees weren't in the mortgage contract, so they couldn't charge them. Only amounted to $172, which most folks wouldn't bother with, but I'm retired, was pissed and had the time.
