Good god! Am I the only one here who has 50% or more in fixed assets? I'm 60% fixed, and I'm 60 years old. At the time of the market high in early November 2007, I was 20% fixed. At the time, I raised it to 30% "just in case." I didn't sell during the market drop through March 2009. When the market started coming back up, I started slowly moving money from equities into fixed, because I realized that I couldn't count on anything or anybody, and thus needed to protect a higher portion of our overall portfolio. We're now at 62% fixed, but that's just because.... My target is 60%. We also built up a carry forward cap loss by virtue of the selling of some equities in order to reach our goal for a 60% fixed allocation. Well, I'm just a little surprised that I'm the only one around here that has more than 50% fixed.
