Thought I'd do this board's post for 2003 by pointing out a cracking discussion of gorilla tactics elsewhere on the Fool :

I'm not a great believer that biology is a good arena for gorilla gaming, but I thought I might put in a shout for a private company, Intronn, which has some rather neat technology for 'editing' mRNAs using spliceosomes. Which is neat, they can replace mutant RNAs with the 'correct' one using just a few hundred bp rather than a full gene of several kb's, which means they can deliver using chemistry rather than viruses. And they can also insert a toxin gene into the mRNA, or something that allows them to image cells that are expressing a particular gene. It's very cute science, even if they're only proven it to work in animal models so far. Their key patent on transplicing is US 6,013,487.

Disclaimer : I hold shares in Proteome Sciences (PRM.L), who funded Intronn as a startup and retain 30.87% of the equity. I'll be doing a more detailed post on the current state of play at Intronn within the next few days over on the PRM.L board :
