Got it solved, Moon.

The Nanosynth has a well-known bug that sometimes it fails to recognize bank/patch changes. The "fix" is to perform a reset procedure that is not in the owner's manual. I found it both by Googling and also by a tech at the local Music-Go-Round store (they have two Nanosynth's for sale).

Ya gotta:
1. Turn it off.
2. Turn the Vol and Effect knobs down all the way, turn the other 3 knobs so that they point straight up.
3. Plug a midi-cable in both the In and the Out/Thru ports, making a loop.
4. Power it on.
5. When the midi light turns on, power off the nanosynth.

It worked!
