Governments only act decisively in a crisis. Look at the history of this Congress. The number of decisive actions are few and far between. It's mostly been a term of naming parks and buildings - mostly after themselves - sending earmarks to pet projects back home and avoiding any contentious issues. Recall that Speaker Pelosi sent Congress home on recess rather than address the energy legislation the majority of wanted to debate.
I predict the Medicare crisis will not be addressed until about 2017, just before the Medicare fund becomes insolvent.
I predict the Social Security crisis will not be addressed until around 2040, just before the SS fund becomes insolvent.
I could go on but I need to get back in the market and short the snot out of .....
