GracieGirl is prepped for the upcoming year and asked: Is anyone else goal-setting for the new year?

InvestorGrrl raises her arm and yelps:
Me! Me!

I was surprised to find that on my goal list for 2001 paying off the credit cards did not take priority.
Here are the big five:
1. Pick up contributions to Roth IRA (set aside temporarily to hasten paying estate taxes,) for 2000.
2. Pay with cash for plane tickets to friend's wedding 2300 miles away in May.
3. Remove Private Mortgage Insurance from mortgage payment (four months left to go from 24 month minimum term, present loan to value is already 72%; have already received instructions from mortgage lender for removing PMI).
4. Pay with cash for natural gas furnace, replacing antique behemoth oil furnace.
5. Put 15% of net income toward debt repayment.

Several of these goals will be completed by the first quarter; then I'll have to go through the next quarter's goals.
