Granted they all tend to do this. Letterman in NY and Leno in LA.

You're right. Letterman though at least gives a little background at first to let people who don't know New York very well in on the joke or skit they're doing. Leno is not so good at this, and neither was Carson.

I didn't see the show, so I may be WAY off base on this one, but it sorta sounds like an old series from Dunkin Doughnuts. This guy wakes up really early in the morning...and all the mumbles is 'time to make the doughnuts.' They ran a whole series for several months, but it's been a number of years ago.

No, you're right on base with that. "Time to make the doughnuts" was the phrase. I've never seen that commercial, since Dunkin Donuts is not a big chain out here (we have a bunch of Winchells, Noah's Bagels, and a few Krispy Kremes).

So does the guy in the ad look just like the Al-Qaeda guy?
