Greetings, Archf, and welcome.

<<Is it possible to have self directed funds in a 457 retirement plan for investment in individual stocks? I am currently maxing my contribution at $8K per year and am unhappy (as any fool would be) with the mutual fund returns available. Does anyone have any better options?>>

Is it possible? Sure….But only if the options within the plan allow for a self-directed account. I've never seen one that does, but I suppose somewhere one exists. By and large, the governmental entities that sponsor most of these plans aren't that permissive with the options they make available to their employees.

Regards…..Pixy
