Greetings, Blooperoo1, and welcome. You wrote:

<<I'M NEW TO MOTLEY FOOL AND RETIRED FOR A WHILE. I LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE FOOLISH FOUR AND WOULD LIKE TO TRY IT OUT WITHIN MY ROLLOVER IRA. IF I STARTED NOW BY CHOOSING THE APPROPRIATE FOUR STOCKS, IS THERE ANY PURPOSE IN SELLING THEM, OTHER THAN MAKING ADJUSTMENTS AS OTHER STOCKS COME INTO FAVOR? IF THE SITUATION IS THAT THERE IS NO PURPOSE, DO YOU OFFER INFORMATION ABOUT CHANGES IN THE FOOLISH FOUR THROUGHOPUT THE YEAR SO THAT I CAN UPDATE MY PORTFOLIO OF FOUR STOCKS AT ANY TIME CHANGES ARE MADE? WOULDN'T THAT ACTUALLY BE PREFERRABLE? HAVE YOU DONE STATISTICAL ANALYSES TO SHOW WHETHER THE RESULTS OF MOVING TO A NEW FOOLISH FOUR STOCK, IN A TAX FREE ACCOUNT, GIVES SUPERIOR RESULTS THAN WAITING UNTIL YEAR'S END? >>

Before you do anything, I suggest most strongly you go to the Dow area at http://www.fool.com/DDow/FoolishFourExplained.htm and read up on the Foolish Four method of investing. Your questions indicate you have a poor understanding of how the system works. Therefore, IMHO you need to understand what's involved before you use that method. You will find all of the answers to your questions there as well.

BTW... Please turn off that dratted Caps Lock key when posting to the boards. Online etiquette considers the use of all caps to be shouting, and many consider it to be very rude behavior. Additionally, at least to my eyes, it makes your post very difficult to read. I know you don't intend either reaction, so I just mention this for your future consideration.

Regards..Pixy
