Greetings, Harry, and welcome. You asked:

<<I have about 50 stock options that will cost me about $2,000 to Exercise. Can I make these options my Roth IRA contribution for the year? Are there any special problems/concerns when using stock options for an IRA . Can I just tell my employer to deposit them to the Roth account. >>

Nice try, and you get two bronze stars for creative thinking. Unfortunately, you cannot do that. You may contribute cash and only cash to a Roth IRA as your annual contribution.
