Greetings, jake781, and welcome. You asked:

<<What is the min required distribution from my IRA at age 70 1/2? How can I calculate this? >>

It depends on what method you choose to calculate the MRD and whether you will do so over just your or your and a benficiary's life expectancy. You will find a general description of what's involved in my article "70 1/2: Ya Gotta Take It Sometime" at http://www.fool.com/retirement/manageretirement/manageretirement10.htm. The procedures to be used are in IRS Publication 590 (Individual Retirement Arrangements) which you may download at http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/prod/forms_pubs/index.html. See also my article "Designating Beneficiaries" at http://www.fool.com/retirement/manageretirement/manageretirement11.htm for some other items to consider.

Regards..Pixy
