Greetings, Jeannie1, and welcome.<<How does one decide between a Roth IRA and a regular IRA? I have about 15 -20 years before retirement and am wondering how to approach this decision. Should I switch all of our retirement money over to a Roth?>>If you are asking whether you should convert existing IRAs to a Roth IRA, the answer is not an easy one. It varies from family to family based on a number of issues. Among these are your best guess as to tax rates now and in the future, the possibility for and the impact of potential tax law changes, your overall net worth and estate planning desires, and the source of monies to pay all taxes due on the conversion. Fortunately, the decision to make an annual contribution to a Roth IRA is a little easier. You may want to review the posts starting on 1/31/98 in this folder under the subject "Roth Contributions and Conversions." They will give you food for thought as you make your decision in this matter.Regards……Pixy
