Greetings, WEEBOY, and welcome.

<<RECENTLY RETIRED AT 67, $40k IN IRA, WIFE 62 HAS $40K IN IRA. WE WILL NOT need FUNDS FROM IRA FOR AT LEAST 5-10 YEARS. IS THERE ANY ADVANTAGE TO SWITCHING TO ROTH AT THIS LATE DATE. NOT YET SURE READY TO COMMIT TO GRANDKIDS FUTURE UNTIL WE SEE WHAT OUR NEEDS AND OPTIONS ARE.

PRESENT INCOME ADEQAUTELY COVERED BY DIVIDENDS AND CAPS GAINS ANNUALLY IN CASH.ESTIMAT TAX BRACKET AROUND 28% FOR NEXT 3-5 YEARS.>>

Ouch!!! Did we make you mad and that's why you're shouting? Please be easier on the eyes and turn off your Caps Lock key.

A decision to convert traditional IRAs to Roth IRAs is based on a number of factors such as your current and future tax bracket, the length of time the money will stay in the account, how you will pay the taxes due on the conversion, and your estate planning wishes. Everyone is different, so each of us must look at our own situation. I've outlined an approach to making this analysis in a previous post. You can read that missive by going to this link:

The post will help you as you make this decision. If you have any further questions after reading it, just c'mon back and ask.

Regards.....Pixy
