Apparently there are two kinds of SIMPLE IRA plans--a DFI (designated financial institution) plan and a non-DFI plan. My company has a non-DFI plan.

It appears that Scottrade does not do SIMPLE IRAs. They just do traditional, Roth, and Coverdells. I'd seen favorable reports on them in this discussion group and had looked at them already.
