They pay yearly. They just credit it to your account with a note saying "YOUR ANNUAL CASH REWARD IS..." It's unsettling to realize that your CC company has given you $488 and you don't have to call and point out their error.

There are a few places that don't take Amex. It's a number I can live with. Buying cat food at the vet keeps my oldest card active.

The biggest problem I've had so far is I don't know what Quicken category this free money falls into. I've got it as a Bank Fee right now, so it looks like I've paid -$486 in ATM and bank service charges in 2008.
