Apple's market share has been slowly creeping up as individual consumers have been moving to Macs for some time.

Years ago, Microsoft started catering to Dell/ HP/ Lenova, and to IT departments. So long as the end-users are tied to the platform dictated by their IT department, they are 'captive' users so Microsoft owns them for the time being.

As more companies adopt more liberal policies about what computers employees can use, it's a big problem.
