Umm... do you not understand that costs are different in different parts of the country??

My parents have a place in Southwest Missouri... 110 acres on the Gasconade river, with a small 3-bedroom house (about 75 years old though). Whole thing cost them $110,000.

It's paid for, and they can live quite comfortably on $3,000 a month. (They have no need for a Porsche, and instead have a pickup truck and a small sedan)
