>>> If MS had not used their monopoly illegally we would be using WordPerfect (a superior product to Word) and Lotus 1-2-3.[lol] Did you ever actually =use= WordPerfect? My first word processor was WordPerfect, and it was wonderful. Unfortunately, it failed to keep up with the competition, failed to improve, failed to adapt adequately to new operating systems, and disintegrated until today, it's practically unusable. At my current client's site, they use the off-spring of the originally stellar product, and I'll tell you the truth - I wouldn't have that piece of software on a machine that belongs to me, of any of the suite, for that matter. It's not stable, it about half works about half the time, and the documentation looks like it was written by a less-than-bright technophobe.Yeah, yeah, I've heard over and over that those problems are somehow all Microsoft's fault. But what I see is rotten management, rotten development planning and control, and wishful thinking.I'm no Microsoft fan, for many reasons, but WordPerfect didn't need any help from Microsoft to destroy themselves as a viable product.Steph
