It's possible that considering the chaos today (that more than one analyst believes may indicate a "crash"), MSFT may be operating from the position that the DOJ simply won't be able to afford to do anything substantive.

We all know that political reality has its hand in the court system. Clinton/Gore, or whoever takes over in November, won't want their names permanently attached as the administration who brought about the next 1987.

As far as I can tell, the only government official who may be celebrating today is Greenspan... Well, he =said= he wanted the market cooled...
